August 20, 1911 to send the New York Time's telegram dispatchers worldwide using commercial utilities, to test the speed of sending a telegram, and view routes.

The message "This message sent around the world" is sent from the 17th floor of the office of a newspaper in New York, at 7:00 pm, that day received 16 operators around the world, and traveled from a distance of 28,000 miles. After 16.5 minutes, the operator received an answer. The message reaches the Philippines, Singapore, and Bombay, and other countries.

The building in which the message is sent is now called One Times Square.

July 1903 has successfully sent by former United States Theodore Roosevelt was the first message across the world within nine minutes when he completes Commercial Pacific Cable.
