A mysterious disease killed more than 30 children in a remote area of ​​Myanmar, officials said on Thursday, and it is difficult for authorities to treat the victims.

The disease, with symptoms such as measles, will sprout in the Sagaing region of Myanmar to the north, a remote and mountainous area bordering the east of India and home of the Naga tribes.

Hit by the disease in adults and children from June, but it was particularly deadly in children under age five.

"Altogether 23 children have been killed were in Lahal township and 13 killed in Nan Yon township since June because of this unknown disease," said Yon Law, MP from Naga regional self-administrative region.

"Rashes came out on their bodies, they have a fever and difficulty breathing because of coughing. Blood also comes out while coughing, "he said.
