Oppose the Commission on Human Rights and of the Catholic Church's plan presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte to revive the death penalty in the Philippines.

According to CHR chairman Chito Gascon, they will watch the death penalty deliberations in Congress and said he would file their position on the plan.

Gascon also said that they are against the death penalty because of weak justice system of the country. Gascon explained that, if re-live the death penalty in the country's weak justice system, it may lead to the penalized prove it was no sin.

On the part of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, said Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz, who strongly opposed to the death penalty and they will not let you do that without that step the Catholic Church keeps it.
