A lawmaker from Mindanao to raise the minimum monthly base pay of personnel of the Philippine National Police ( PNP ) from the current P14,834 and P50,000 to make the rank of Police Officer 1 ( PO1 ) .
Said Rep . Johnny Pimentel ( 2nd District , Surigao del Sur ) that her proposed base pay schedule upgrades or separate vary according to rank, qualifications and length of service of the police .
" The men and women in the uniformed services risk their lives in upholding the rule of law, many times , in a daily basis . It is tragic but only that their compensation is neglected , "said Pimentel .
